About the webinar

International students' experience and satisfaction play a crucial role in recruitment and retention. Providing international students with excellent support is of the utmost importance to higher education institutions. This webinar will explore activities, support efforts, and other successful strategies that institutions can implement to serve international students from three different perspectives: a researcher’s findings, a student’s experience, and an institution’s efforts.

Bryce has written several research reports and articles for WES, most notably on credential assessment for refugees and on career services for international students. He holds a master’s degree in international education development from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree in history from California State University, Bakersfield.



International Student, Iran

Nastaran is an international student from Iran at a U.S. state university where she majors in neuroscience. In addition to studying neuroscience, Nastaran is interested in poetry and learning about new cultures. She hopes to become a doctor and provide first rate medical services to patients. Nastaran has lived in the U.S. for nearly four years.



Director of International Recruitment, Admissions, and Sponsored Student Services, Kent State University

Salma Benhaida is the director of international recruitment, admissions, and sponsored student services at Kent State University where she overseas international recruitment and admissions over the eight-campus system. She also acts as liaison between Kent State University and various sponsoring agencies and foreign embassies. She received her bachelor’s of science in accountancy and her master’s in communication from The University of Akron. She is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
