About the webinar:

The number of Egyptian degree-seeking students pursuing their education abroad has nearly tripled over the last decade. Egypt also has tremendous long-term potential for further growth in outbound student mobility. This webinar explores the Egyptian education system and offers our recommendations for obtaining, verifying, and assessing Egyptian academic documents.

Rana Hassan

Knowledge Analyst, WES

Rana has worked at WES for more than two years in credential analysis and evaluation and in international education research. She specializes in the educational systems of countries in the Middle East and North Africa. She is also well versed in the educational systems in East Asian and Commonwealth countries. Rana earned a master’s degree in Middle East studies and a bachelor’s degree in international studies and business management and administration, both from the City University of New York.

Yeganeh Khonsari

Policy Analyst, WES

Yeganeh specializes in the analysis and evaluation of credentials from the Middle East. Before joining WES in 2014, she worked as a language instructor for international students. Yeganeh holds a master’s degree in English literature from the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3, and a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from Islamic Azad University in Iran. Yeganeh speaks Farsi, English, and French and has a working knowledge of Arabic and Turkish.

Mara Ohorodnik

Research Associate, WES

Mara is an international education researcher specializing in education for refugees. At WES, she continues to conduct research on this topic as well as on internationalization policies and student mobility. She has been published in the Journal of Studies in International Education, and presented her research at the Annual Graduate Student Research Conference of the Washington Consortium for Comparative and International Education. Mara holds a master’s degree in international education from the George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in communication from Michigan State University.
