Joohyun Shin

Advanced Evaluation Specialist, WES

Joohyun specializes in the analysis and evaluation of credentials from countries in the Asia-Pacific region. She joined WES in 2013 and has presented on the education systems of the Philippines and Vietnam, among others, at WES workshops and webinars. Joohyun holds a master’s degree in education from New York University and a bachelor’s degree from the City University of New York. Joohyun is fluent in Korean.

Sophia Chawala

Knowledge Analyst, WES

As a Knowledge Analyst, Sophia specializes in the education systems of East and South Asia. She has written an article on the education system of Japan and presented on the education system of Pakistan. She holds a bachelor’s degree in cultural and communication studies from Ithaca College and a master’s degree in Asian studies from Georgetown University. Sophia is fluent in Japanese and Urdu and has a working proficiency in Arabic.
