About the event:

Newcomers face multiple barriers re-entering their professional fields, including the lack of relevant U.S. working experience. As local governments look to support immigrant workforce integration, new and innovative approaches are being introduced in cities across the country to help bridge the skilled immigrant/employment gap.

This webinar will introduce the idea of “City as Model Employer” through the City Fellowship Program, a pilot project that The City of Philadelphia recently launched to help enable qualified immigrant jobseekers to gain crucial municipal work experience. In this webinar, guest speakers from The City of Philadelphia and Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians will discuss the pilot project and share effective strategies for forming partnerships between immigrant inclusion and government.
