About the webinar:

This webinar presents findings from a Canada-based 2017 WES pilot to provide credential assessments to Syrian refugees who lack access to official records from their home institutions. Presenters will also discuss the WES methodology for assessing and reconstructing credentials from limited or partial documentation.

Beka Tavartkiladze

Assistant Director and Head of Evaluation Services, WES Canada

Beka has 15 years of experience in credential evaluation and has extensive knowledge of foreign educational systems and the issues surrounding the recognition of international educational credentials. He frequently presents on foreign educational systems and the recognition of international educational credentials at conferences and workshops. Currently he is also leading the team of senior credential evaluators working on WES’s pilot project for refugees.


DENISE JILLIONS

Associate Director, WES Global Talent Bridge

Denise has more than 10 years of experience in the field of immigrant integration and education policy and has previously worked as a policy officer in the Foreign Credential Referral Office of the Government of Canada. Since 2012, she has helped develop the WES Global Talent Bridge program in New York. She leads WES’ Refugee Project which is currently piloting a credential assessment service for refugees to Canada.
