Despite political tension between the U.S. and Mexico, student mobility is still thriving between the two countries. Join Alejandro Ortiz and Carlos Monroy as they review the Mexican education system, common grading scales, and how to obtain and assess key academic documents. Presenters will also examine Mexican reforms that promote the recognition of U.S and foreign education in Mexico, and review recent Mexican education policies in support of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students and other vulnerable groups.

Carlos Monroy

Carlos Monroy has been evaluating international academic credentials at WES since 2006. He specializes in evaluations from Latin America and has presented his research at various conferences including NAFSA, NAGAP, CAIE, EAIE & CONAHEC. Carlos earned his master's degree in international relations from City University of New York.

Alejandro is a regular contributor to WES original research, where he provides higher education institutions with research-based, data-driven solutions to help institutions maximize the impact of their international enrollment efforts. He is passionate about data analytics and earned a master’s degree in social impact and policy analysis from New York University.
